Job summary

Community Options, Inc. is seeking Part-Time and PRN Direct Support Professionals in Derwood, MD to provide person-centered care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

No experience required—we provide PAID training, starting at $18.00 per hour. Responsibilities include assisting with daily routines, monitoring health, supporting community participation, transporting to appointments, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to build supportive relationships with individuals receiving supports.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations.
• Background checks, central registry and drug testing required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist with daily routines including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and hygiene.
• Monitor health and medical needs and report concerns promptly.
• Support learning of independent and community-based skills.
• Participate in community, social, and recreational activities.
• Drive individuals to medical appointments and activities in the community.
• Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community members, businesses, and families.
• Additional tasks may be assigned; cooperate with staff during inspections.
