Position Summary:
Direct Support Professionals provide daily support for developmentally disabled adults in our Bronx residences.
We are seeking conscientious and kind individuals who are dedicated to helping our residents lead fuller lives while helping to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
SHIFT AVAILABLE: Thursday through Sunday 11pm to 7:30pm (32hrs)
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to make precise arm-hand positioning movements and maintain static arm-hand positions. Position requires fine moto repetitive motion Make skillful, controlled manipulations of small objects. Physical agility to bend, stoop, walk, reach overhead, push/pull, squat, twist, and turn. Physical ability to remain on feet for extended periods throughout a workweek. Regular crouching to retrieve items from the floor or lower shelves. Regular reaching to retrieve items form storage shelves and file cabinets up to 8’ high. The employee must frequently lift and/or move heavy and/or bulky objects weighing more than 50 lbs. Must be physically capable of performing above tasks.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate.

QualificationsQualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED and be able to clear a criminal background check. Previous OPWDD experience preferred.
Certifications required: AMAP, CPR/First Aid and SCIP-R. Current certifications are preferred, or must be obtained within 6 months.
Qualified trainees will be offered training after 3 months with the agency.
Driver license required.
