Job summary

AlmaVia of San Rafael, part of Transforming Age, is hiring a part-time Dining Room Server to create a warm dining atmosphere and provide excellent service to residents. The role includes presenting menus, taking orders, delivering meals, and assisting with dining room setup in a respectful elder care environment.

Work hours are 3:00pm to 7:30pm. Prior server experience and comfort with POS systems are preferred; California Food Handler requirements and First Aid may be required within 30 days of

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Previous server experience preferred.
• 6+ months in long-term care, home care, or related field preferred.
• Able to use POS (point-of-sale) systems.
• Proficient English verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Creates a warm, positive dining atmosphere with excellent service.
• Presents menus and explains daily options; answers questions about items.
• Records orders accurately and relays to kitchen.
• Delivers meals and beverages promptly while maintaining temperature.
• Assists residents with salad and breakfast bar selections and trays.
• Clears, cleans, and resets tables for upcoming service.
• Supports daily dining room setup including coffee, dessert portions, and soup/salad bar prep.
• Follows food service policies and infection control procedures.
