Job summary

MountainOne is seeking a part-time Dietitian to lead dietary services for residents in a Massachusetts facility. You will plan and coordinate the dietary department, ensure compliance with clinical orders, and collaborate with nursing, social services, and administration to support patient care.

The role requires hospital or skilled nursing experience, a registered Dietitian credential, and strong cost-control and food management skills to maintain quality nutrition and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition or dietetics from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Registered Dietitian in this state.
• Minimum 2 years of hospital, skilled nursing, or related medical facility experience.
• Training in cost control, food management, and diet therapy.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to interact tactfully with staff, residents, visitors and the public.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm in resident interactions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Dietary Department and its programs and activities.
• Coordinate dietary services with Nursing, Housekeeping, Social Services, and other departments.
• Inspect storage rooms and related areas for upkeep and supply control.
• Review and develop corrective plans for dietary deficiencies noted during surveys.
• Assist in planning dietary portions of discharge plans.
• Participate in facility surveys conducted by government agencies.
• Interview residents or families to obtain diet history and preferences.
• Maintain records of residents' food likes and dislikes.
• Assist in developing methods to determine quality and quantity of food served.
• Assist in planning regular and special diet menus as prescribed by physicians.
• Assist in developing diet plans for individual residents.
• Review diet plans to ensure compliance with physician orders.
• Meet with administration and staff to plan food service programs and activities.
• Ensure dietary work areas are clean, sanitary, and well maintained.
• Place orders for equipment and supplies; maintain stock levels.
• Interview vendors and assist in purchasing food service supplies.
• Develop written dietary plans of care and goals for residents.
• Maintain good rapport with care team to support a collaborative approach.
