Job summary

Wynwood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in New Jersey is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to support our dietary department and Residents. The role focuses on customer service, sanitation, and assisting with meal preparation and service.

The Dietary Aide will work in a health care setting, assist with meals, trays, and dishwashing, and ensure safety and sanitation standards are met. This position requires teamwork and reliable shift coverage.

Qualifications

• Provide superior customer service to Residents and employees.
• Maintain the dietary department in a clean, safe, sanitary manner per policies and procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of food to assure quality nutritional services.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of meals and beverages.
• Participate in the food tray line and prepare trays according to diet cards to meet meal times.
• Assist with loading food carts and serving meals to Residents and staff.
• Bag and store food items as directed.
• Clean and wrap silverware, inspecting for cleanliness.
• Bus and clean tables after meal time throughout the facility.
• Scrape, wash, and rack unclean dishes and utensils.
• Assist in the operation of the dish-washing machine.
• Sort and stack clean dishes and inspect for cleanliness.
• Place clean dishes, utensils and cutlery in their proper storage place.
• Participate in table setup (tablecloth, silverware, dishware and filling cups with water).
• Discard waste/trash into proper containers per sanitation procedures and guidelines.
• Assure that work area is clean and free of hazards.
• Report all equipment malfunctions and supply needs to the supervisor.
• Report all hazards and incidents to the Dietary Supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with Residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
• Attend and participate in meetings and in-services as directed or scheduled.
