Job summary

Emterra Environmental USA is hiring a Part-Time Diesel Mechanic in Flint, MI. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel-powered trucks and heavy equipment to ensure fleet reliability and safety.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, safety compliance, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The position supports maintenance on refuse, front-load, and roll-off vehicles; DOT inspections; and accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; diesel tech training preferred.
• 2+ years diesel mechanic experience preferred; heavy-duty trucks or refuse vehicles a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance: oil changes, lubrication, filters, fluid inspections.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical, air brakes, and suspensions.
• Conduct DOT inspections for safety compliance.
• Troubleshoot systems using diagnostic equipment.
• Repair/replace components on fleet vehicles including refuse trucks.
• Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately.
