Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Sonographer – Sonologist Associate to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with department policies and industry standards. You will evaluate requests, generate high‑quality images, educate patients, and support the physician’s diagnostic workflow.

The role supports students and residents, upholds quality assurance, and leads by example in clinical practice.

Formación

• College based two year training program with clinical education in an accredited health care setting.
• Technical competency in General Abdominal/Small Parts scanning, Abdominal Doppler, and general Gynecological scanning.
• Graduation from an accredited program in Ultrasound.
• ARDMS certification in Abdomen (AB) and maintenance of current ARDMS certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as ARDMS certified Sonographer.
• CPR Certification (BLS) through the American Heart Association.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical demands include lift/carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsabilidades

• Evaluates the request for diagnostic ultrasound services and assesses the patient to determine the appropriate procedure protocol.
• Utilize equipment and perform services to generate ultrasound images.
• Provides patient education before, during and after the procedure.
• Mentors students and residents enrolled in ultrasound programs.
• Documents imaging procedures and ensures proper charging and reporting.
• Provide leadership in protocols and new technologies; assist with staff training.
