Job summary

Preston Auto Group is seeking a Detailer to ensure every vehicle—new and pre-owned—arrives showroom-ready. You will train other techs, manage supplies, and identify damage early to keep deliveries on schedule.

You will perform final quality checks and coordinate with sales and service teams to ensure on-time readiness, while upholding dealership policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months of related experience or training.
• Ability to stand, walk and reach with hands for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Train and assist other make-ready and detail technicians
• Maintain inventory and order make-ready supplies
• Act as liaison between department staff and sales managers to facilitate the process for new and pre-owned vehicles
• Detail client vehicles as needed
• Maintain strict adherence to dealership policy on client vehicle care and operation
• Note damage and notify service so a claim can be filed within 24 hours
• Perform quality control inspections of all vehicles before they're brought to the frontline
• Coordinate with sales and service to ensure on-time deliveries
• Attend department meetings

Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods
• Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift up to 10 lbs.
• Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
