Job summary

State of Nebraska is seeking a part-time Dentist for the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women in York, NE. The role involves comprehensive dental care for inmates, including exams, diagnoses, restorative work, and surgical procedures, with facility differential pay of $3/hour on top of base rate.

The successful candidate must hold a Dentistry degree and Nebraska licensure, pass a background check and pre-employment medical/drug tests, and complete the NDCS training program after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Degree in Dentistry and Nebraska licensure required.
• Background security check and medical/drug screening required.
• Completion of NDCS Training Program after hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic exams of inmates' teeth, gingiva, and oral mucosa; prepare charts.
• Diagnose diseases and lesions; take X-rays and prepare study models.
• Provide restorative dentistry.
• Perform oral surgery including anesthesia administration and tooth extraction.
• Administer drugs orally, topically, or by injection/prescription.
