Jamestown Healing Clinic in Sequim, WA is seeking a part-time Dental Hygienist to deliver preventive dental services in a trauma-informed setting. You will work with patients affected by substance use disorders, providing education and compassionate care while promoting long-term oral health and wellness.

Responsibilities include clinical exams, radiographs, prophylaxis, patient education, and infection control.

Qualifications

• WA dental hygienist license active and in good standing.
• Current BLS and First Aid for Healthcare Providers.
• At least 15 hours of continuing education each year.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient care.
• Ability to educate and motivate patients on oral health.
• Basic computer proficiency with charting software.

Responsabilités

• Examine patients' oral cavities and document tooth and tissue conditions.
• Refer patients to the dentist for decay, fillings, or abnormalities.
• Apply desensitizing agents and topical medications as appropriate.
• Administer topical and local anesthesia where permitted.
• Expose, develop, and mount dental radiographs and interpret results.
• Record medical histories and treatment provided; maintain equipment.
• Disinfect operatories and follow infection control procedures.
• Educate patients using models and materials on oral care.
• Demonstrate proper brushing, flossing, and periodontal techniques.
• Perform comprehensive prophylaxis, sealants, and fluoride applications.
• Assist with scaling and polishing; manage patient comfort and positioning.
• Provide trauma-informed, patient-centered care; respect patient needs.
• Integrate harm reduction principles into patient education and referrals.
• Follow Tribe and clinic policies, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
