SEARHC in Wrangell, Alaska seeks a part-time Dental Hygienist to provide age-specific preventive and therapeutic dental care for a diverse patient population. The role emphasizes patient education, perio therapy, polishing, fluoride application, and record keeping within a community health setting.

The ideal candidate holds an Alaska dental hygiene license, BLS, and has strong infection control and communication skills.

Formación

• Active Dental Hygiene License in Alaska or another U.S. state.
• Alaska license preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• BLS certification within 45 days of start and maintained thereafter.
• Clinical Competency within 3 months and every 3 years.
• High Risk Competency within 3 months and every year.

Responsabilidades

• Provides age-specific patient education in prevention and control of oral disease, emphasizing oral hygiene, home care, and nutrition.
• Examines oral tissues, performs periodontal therapy, coronal polishing, and fluoride applications; measures periodontal pockets; takes x-rays; records vital signs.
• Manages patient schedule.
• Coordinates dental prevention activities, including health fairs and clinics.
• Maintains hygienist supplies and instruments, including sterilization of instruments.
• Other duties as assigned.
