Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Dental Assisting courses on a part-time, as-needed basis. The role focuses on delivering effective instruction and assessing student progress within the college's standard syllabi.

You will conduct scheduled classes, maintain attendance and grading records, and provide support to students outside class time. Emphasis is placed on diversity, inclusion, and professional standards in clinical and didactic settings.

Qualifications

• Earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or licensed dentist (DDS).
• Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) Certificate.
• Two years of directly related experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach didactic courses and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
• Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught and follow syllabus content and requirements.
• Maintain student attendance and grading records per College policy.
• Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions and assist.
• Use Blackboard, PowerPoint, and related technology as appropriate.
• Notify program/department chair in case of emergencies.
• Promote diversity and inclusive practices in all activities.

Education

Baccalaureate or higher degree (regionally accredited)

Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or licensed dentist (DDS)

Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) Certificate
