Job summary

Southern Health Partners is seeking a dependable Dental Assistant to work alongside our onsite dentist at the Houston County Jail in Perry, GA on a part-time contract basis. The role supports one 8-hour clinic day per month, providing chairside assistance and maintaining a clean, stocked workflow in a correctional healthcare setting.

The position requires dental assisting experience, knowledge of sterilization and infection control, and the ability to follow dentist directions while upholding

Qualifications

• Previous dental assisting experience required.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization, and infection control procedures.
• Ability to work independently while supporting the dentist and healthcare team.
• Correctional healthcare experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist with patient care and chairside procedures.
• Prepare the treatment area and dental instruments for clinic.
• Assist with instrument sterilization and infection control procedures.
• Prepare patients for dental treatment.
• Assist with dental procedures as directed by the dentist.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment area.
• Assist with dental supplies and equipment.
• Follow all applicable infection control and safety procedures.
• Perform other dental assisting duties within your training and scope as directed by the dentist.
• Work professionally and respectfully with patients in a correctional healthcare environment
