Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers promptly, answering questions, and assisting with purchases
• Package, wrap, price, and merchandise Deli Department products
• Maintain product knowledge of deli case items: salads, meats, cheeses, etc.
• Check dates on all products to ensure freshness and rotate stock
• Maintain sanitation and food safety practices; cleaning duties include sweeping and mopping
• Prepare cold salads, dips, grab-n-go items (pasta salads, potato salad, coleslaw, wraps, sandwiches)

Job Summary

The Deli Clerk provides exceptional service when greeting and assisting customers at the deli counter, on the sales floor, and on the phone. Preparation, production, and cleaning are also key aspects. This position requires evening and weekend availability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers promptly, answering questions, and assisting with purchases
• Package, wrap, price, and merchandise Deli Department products
• Maintain product knowledge of deli case items: cold salads, dips, lunchmeats, cheeses, etc.
• Properly date items, check dates on all products to ensure freshness, and properly rotate stock
• Maintain general sanitation practices, food safety practices, and food storage practices according to store and health department standards. Cleaning duties include sweeping, mopping, cleaning surfaces, washing dishes, and more.
• Prepare some cold salads, dips, and grab-n-go items, including but not limited to: pasta salads, potato salads, coleslaw, tuna salad, grab-n-go pizzas, lettuce salads, sandwiches, wraps, and dips
