Job summary

AG Supermarkets, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Associated Grocers of New England, Inc., operates supermarkets in New Hampshire and Vermont and is seeking a part-time Deli Clerk for our Goffstown, NH store. You will build product knowledge, assist customers, and prepare/package deli items to meet quality standards.

You will maintain a clean, safe deli area and deliver exceptional service in a busy retail environment, with emphasis on accuracy and food safety.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, employees, and management.
• Dedicated to providing exceptional customer service through prompt issue resolution and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of all deli products to effectively assist customers and support operational excellence.
• Accurately cut, slice, weigh, and package deli products in alignment with company standards, quality expectations, and customer needs.
• Utilize fryers, ovens, and stoves to prepare various hot food items with quality standards.
• Package hot food items based on customer requests, ensuring proper portioning and presentation.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace in adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Support and comply with all company safety, security, and operational procedures policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a typical retail environment, requiring:

• Frequent lifting, pushing, carrying, and pulling of weights between 20–40 lbs., with occasional lifting over 40 lbs.
• Standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and walking (10%).
• Frequent kneeling, bending, and reaching above and below waist level.
• Hard tile/cement flooring with anti-fatigue mats.
• Working in various temperature-controlled environments, including:
• Areas near ovens (extreme heat)
• Receiving areas with occasional humidity or wet flooring.
• Required: Slip-resistant footwear, hair nets or hats, various cleaning supplies, and cutting gloves.
• Machines, Tools, and Equipment used: slicers, knives, wrappers, fryers, ovens, steamers, and scales.
