Qualifikationen

• Experience coaching, teaching, or advising high-school-age students.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; comfortable coordinating with students, parents, and school staff.
• Ability to commit to the full season (September 2026–May 2027), including the weekly after-school practice slot and all five Saturday competitions.
• Successful completion of a background check and any clearances required by Franklin School.

Aufgaben

• Plan and lead one weekly practice (3:30-4:30 PM) covering research, case-building, argumentation, rebuttal, and delivery skills.
• Attend and supervise the team at all five competitions during the season, each a full-day Saturday commitment from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
• Collaborate with the Faculty Advisor and Assistant Coach to coordinate practice plans, competition logistics, and team management.
• Manage roster, organize squads/pairings, and communicate schedules with students and parents/guardians.
• Register the team for tournaments and coordinate transportation and chaperone logistics with school administration.
• Set team norms and uphold conduct, sportsmanship, and academic integrity.
• Track student growth and provide feedback to help debaters improve over the season.
• Partner with the Director of Student Life on team culture, eligibility, and integration with broader school programming.
• Report incidents or concerns promptly to the Director of Student Life.
