Business Management Associates, Inc. seeks a Data Governance Specialist to support governance processes and artifacts across the Fabric Lakehouse environment. The role requires strong metadata, data catalog, and RBAC experience, plus SQL proficiency and DoD/NIST framework familiarity.

Part-time position (~26 hours/week for 10 months) with a focus on data quality, profiling, and documentation. Collaboration with government staff and governance teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Active SECRET clearance is required.
• Experience with metadata management, data catalogs or governance platforms.
• Familiarity with NIST or DoD data management frameworks is preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL and data quality concepts.
• Experience supporting RBAC or data access control processes.
• Experience with data quality tools or frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Supports implementation and operationalization of data governance processes, policies, and standards.
• Develops governance artifacts including metadata catalogs, data quality scorecards, and access control documentation.
• Performs ongoing data quality monitoring, governance compliance reviews, and data stewardship coordination.
• Maintains governance documentation and supports knowledge transfer to Government staff.
• Performs data profiling, validation, cleansing, and quality monitoring across data domains.
• Develops and executes data quality test cases and reconciliation scripts.
• Monitors data pipeline outputs against quality thresholds and documents issues.
• Supports RBAC design and implementation aligned with Microsoft Entra ID and DoWEA.
