Job summary

FivePoint Credit Union is seeking a data analytics professional to collect, organize, analyze, and report data across the credit union. You will gain hands-on experience applying data analytics, statistics, and visualization to real-world financial data including operational, member, and risk datasets.

You will assist with reporting, data quality initiatives, and analytical projects while gaining exposure to regulatory considerations and credit union operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, CS, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Knowledge of DB2 SQL databases and querying languages.
• Knowledge of Data science, AI/ML, probabilistic and statistical learning.

Job description

Responsible for supporting business and financial decision-making by collecting, organizing, analyzing, and reporting data across the credit union. Provides hands‑on experience applying data analytics, statistical methods, and visualization techniques to real‑world financial data, including operational, member, and risk‑related datasets. Assists with reporting, data quality initiatives, and analytical projects while gaining exposure to credit union operations and regulatory considerations.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Assumes responsibility for applying knowledge of data analytics and information systems to support reporting and technical needs; improve data processes, quality and architecture; develop analytical dashboards and internal tools; and help identify and mitigate data‑related risks.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Required Knowledge:

• Knowledge of DB2 SQL Databases, database modeling and other Querying languages.
• Knowledge of Data science & Artificial Intelligence/Machine learning, Probabilistic and Statistical Learning Methods.

Experience Required:

• Minimum –three to five years of data analysis.

Skills/Abilities:

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Well organized.
• Solid project management abilities.
• Ability to assist and train others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

• Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Preferred Knowledge:

• Experience with business intelligence or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Table
• Text Analytics and Natural Language Processing, Sequence Labeling
• Understanding of credit union operations and information needs.

Experience Preferred:

• At least five years of related experience, preferably in a financial environment.
• Minimum two years of UI/Batch scripting experience in a financial environment.

• Ability to interpret data and communicate insights clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
