This role combines data engineering, business intelligence, and analytics to deliver data-driven solutions for the credit union. The Analytics Engineer designs and builds data pipelines, develops dimensional models, creates Power BI reports and dashboards, and translates business requirements into technical solutions. This position emphasizes hands-on SQL Server development and BI delivery (80%) while providing platform support (20%) to ensure data quality, performance, and reliability. The role requires self-management of projects from requirements gathering through deployment, collaborating with business and technical stakeholders across the organization.
Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or minimum 5 years of equivalent work experience.
Expert-level SQL Server2022 knowledge including T-SQL, performance tuning, execution plans, and indexing strategies
SSIS development and deploymentincludingerror handling, logging, and package reliability
Power BI development including datasets, DAX calculations, and visualization best practices
Dimensional modeling (star schema, snowflake schema) and ETL processes
Data security practices including PII protection and safeguarding sensitive member information
Credit union products, services, and core banking systems (Symitar/ARCU strongly preferred)
experience required: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with SQL Server development, SSIS, and Power BI ina dataengineering, analytics engineering, or business intelligence role
Diagnose and resolve database performance issues using execution plans, indexes, query analysis, and SQL Server monitoring tools
Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions
Self-manage projects fromrequirements throughdesign, development anddeployment with minimal supervision
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to mentor analysts and collaborate across departments
Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management in a fast-paced environment
