Job Summary

Part‑time Dance Instructor in the Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences division. Responsible for teaching and advising students throughout the academic year, and attending meetings as requested.

General Description

Classes to be taught include Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Dance Performance, and Choreography. Classes are held on the main campus in Sanborn, NY.

Compensation

Remuneration: $1,008 per lecture hour / $903 per lab hour.

Typical Work Activities

• Instructing in the field of Dance, including classes in Modern, Jazz, Ballet, Dance Performance, and Choreography
• Adhere to attendance and College grading policies
• Attend and participate in meetings as necessary

Essential Functions

Ability to navigate relationships with diverse populations. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Ability to actively involve and engage students in their own learning. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co‑workers, supervisors and the campus and external community. Must be able to develop, prepare, and present information. Must be able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre or a related field.
• Previous experience working as a Dance Instructor.

Desirable Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Theatre or related field.
• Previous teaching experience at a college or university.
