Job summary

Diocese of Allentown is seeking a Daily Substitute Teacher for St. Michael the Archangel School in the Coopersburg/Bethlehem area. This part-time role involves filling in for K-8 teachers using prepared lesson plans and guiding students in a Catholic school environment.

The substitute will supervise students, follow schedules, and help maintain a positive learning climate, while complying with school policies and diocesan faith-based expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or education related field.
• Teaching certification is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and supervise an educational program set by the classroom teacher.
• Must communicate effectively with parents, students, and co-workers in a positive and enthusiastic manner.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a well-managed classroom and a safe, positive learning environment.
• Supervise students in and out of the classroom.
• Follow and implement lesson plans, classwork, homework, and tests; attend parent-teacher conferences if needed.
• Provide appropriate materials and resources for students to engage in learning.
• Compile a report for the teacher including attendance, lesson progress, and disciplinary actions.
