Job summary

The Virginia DMV seeks a part-time Customer Service Technician at Clintwood CSC to provide front-line support, ensure policy compliance, and help Virginians access essential services.

You will perform audits, review transactions, assist with vehicle registrations, titling, taxes, and driver’s licenses, using various DMV systems. Comprehensive training is provided; this wage position offers no state benefits.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in fast-paced environments.
• Keyboarding proficiency and ability to use automated systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with standard business practices.
• Flexibility to work Monday–Friday and Saturdays.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Attention to detail and timely completion of assignments.
• Valid VA Driver’s License with a driving record that meets safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform liability audits on customer transactions for accuracy and compliance.
• Review entries in our automated system and flag critical errors for management follow-up.
• Log findings using an automated tracking form to maintain service standards.
• Assist customers in person with processing a wide range of transactions such as vehicle registrations, titling, tax collection, and issuing driver’s licenses and IDs.
• Use cash drawers, credit card machines, and DMV computer modules.
• Administer vision screenings and both written and electronic driving tests.
• Ensure that all services are completed per state and federal guidelines.
