Job Summary

The Custodian maintains a safe, secure, and comfortable environment conducive to student learning by cleaning and maintaining the school facility.

Essential Functions

• Clean classrooms, restrooms, hallways, multipurpose rooms, offices, staff lounges, and all interior and exterior areas.
• Set up and clean dining areas before, during, and after meal periods.
• Respond to emergency cleanups such as spills and clogged drains.
• Perform minor maintenance like replacing lights and filters.
• Perform grounds-keeping duties including litter pickup, weeding, and lawn mowing.
• Report repair needs to appropriate personnel.
• Set up furniture for events and meetings.
• Maintain awareness of safety and security needs.

Additional Responsibilities

• Support Aspire's mission, values, policies, and code of ethics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to perform minor maintenance tasks.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects.
• Ability to maintain records and work independently.
• Appropriate interaction with students respecting boundaries.

Minimum educational level: None. Experience: 1-3 years preferred. Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, and repetitive hand movements. Work authorization includes passing background checks and providing health clearance.

Work Environment

Work is performed indoors and outdoors, with exposure to dust, chemicals, and potential illnesses. Some outside work outside regular hours may be required.

Pay Schedule

Based on experience, $20.50 - $37.13 for the 2025-26 school year.
