Job summary

The Greece Central School District is hiring a Custodian (Cleaner) to maintain cleanliness and safety across school facilities. The role is paid at $17.00 per hour with a 12-month work year under Teamsters bargaining unit terms.

No formal education or experience are required, but candidates should be able to perform cleaning tasks, operate floor care equipment, and follow written and oral instructions. Fingerprinting and NYSED clearances are required before employment.

Qualifications

• There are no education or experience qualifications for this position.
• Desired qualifications include physical condition, ability to clean, move boxes and furniture, operate floor machinery, follow instructions, knowledge of cleaning procedures and agents, and daily attendance.

Responsibilities

• Wash, clean, dust, sanitize, mop, vacuum, and perform minor repairs within the school building.
• Perform maintenance on quarry, terrazzo and wood flooring.
• Strip and finish resilient tile floors.
• Extract and shampoo carpets; perform spot removal.
• Lawn care and sidewalk snow removal.

• Ability to complete general cleaning tasks, move boxes and furniture, operate machinery used to maintain floors;
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions;
• Working knowledge of building cleaning procedures, materials and equipment;
• Working knowledge of cleaning agents and proper applications;
• Daily attendance is expected.
