Job summary

Greece Central School District is seeking a Cleaner (Labor) to join our custodial team. The position operates on a 12-month work year with a 6:30am to 3:00pm schedule, totaling 8.5 hours per day. Employment requires fingerprinting and a background check through NYSED prior to start.

The role involves cleaning duties across the school building, minor repairs, floor care, carpet upkeep, lawn care and snow removal, with supervision by the Director of Facility Operations.

Qualifications

• There are no education or experience qualifications for this position.
• Working knowledge of building cleaning procedures, materials and equipment.
• Working knowledge of cleaning agents and proper applications.
• Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
• Ability to complete general cleaning tasks, move boxes and furniture, operate machinery used to maintain floors.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Daily attendance is expected.

Responsibilities

• Wash, clean, dust, sanitize, mop, vacuum, and perform minor repairs within the school building.
• Perform maintenance on quarry, terrazzo and wood flooring.
• Strip and finish resilient tile floors.
• Extract and shampoo carpets; perform spot removal.
• Lawn care and sidewalk snow removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
