Job summary

Lehigh County Mental Health Services is seeking a part-time County Caseworker 1 to assist individuals during crisis moments. You will provide crisis intervention, information and referral, and case management under structured supervision as part of a supportive team.

The role focuses on learning essential skills while helping clients find safety and solutions, with shifts up to 20 hours per week, no telework, and rotating schedules.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college coursework with 12 credits in social sciences.
• Bachelor's degree with 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training including 12 social science credits and one year in a paraprofessional case management role.

Responsibilities

• Provide entry-level crisis intervention, information and referral, and case management under supervision.
• Identify social, emotional, and behavioral health needs from individuals and contacts.
• Participate in crisis response and 988 contacts, developing de-escalation and triage skills.
• Assist with assessments, interviewing, and problem-solving techniques.
• Identify safety concerns and assist in outreach and mobile crisis assessments.
• Assist with preparing and reviewing required documentation such as 302 and Act 77 forms.
• Help update referral databases and maintain client records.
