Job summary

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers in Mobile, AL is seeking a part-time Courier to transport blood products to clients and LifeSouth labs. The role includes preparing shipments, verifying records, and handling deliveries while maintaining safety and compliance.

Shift options include weekday evenings and weekend day hours; some nights and on-call work are required. Must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license, with CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license. Must meet LifeSouth driver eligibility requirements.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule including night, weekend and on-call hours.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, proportion and percentages.
• Lift up to 70 pounds and handle repetitive motion; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect delivery vehicle daily to ensure supplies are present and vehicle is in safe operating condition.
• Package and deliver blood products to clients or other transportation agencies.
• Collect blood products from mobile sites or clients and deliver to laboratory.
• Run errands, deliver documents, and transport small items for repair.
• Load/unload and deliver materials to branch and customers.
• Operate hand truck to move shipments.
