Job summary

Advanced Health Care of St. George in Vermont is seeking a part-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support licensed Occupational Therapists in delivering rehabilitative services to residents.

You will help residents regain independence in daily activities, implement individualized treatment plans, ensure safety during therapy, document progress, and collaborate with families and the care team to promote recovery and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
• State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a COTA.
• Clinical experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare setting is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with compassionate bedside manner.

Responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapists in assessing residents' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial functioning.
• Implement individualized treatment plans with therapeutic exercises and activities.
• Provide hands-on guidance during therapy sessions and ensure safety.
• Utilize adaptive equipment and environment modifications to promote independence.
• Document resident progress and outcomes per facility policies.
• Collaborate with residents, families, and staff to set goals and educate on techniques.
