Job summary

Allegria Village is seeking a Part-Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support residents in our skilled nursing facility. Opportunity to transition to Full-Time.

You will collaborate with Occupational Therapists to deliver high-quality therapy, helping residents improve independence and functional abilities, while educating families and participating in care planning.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the State of Michigan.
• Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) preferred.
• Strong understanding of the functional and cognitive needs of geriatric and long-term care populations.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Select and guide therapeutic activities that meet residents' needs, abilities, and goals.
• Observe, monitor, and document residents' progress and responses to treatment.
• Educate and assist residents and families with activities of daily living and adaptive equipment.
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals for coordinated resident care.
• Prepare, clean, and maintain therapy equipment and materials.
• Participate in care plan meetings and provide updates on resident progress.
• Utilize therapeutic techniques to engage residents in rehabilitation.
• Support residents in coping with changes in functional abilities.
