Job summary

NaphCare, Inc. is seeking a Part Time Physical Therapist to join our team at the Pima County Detention Center in Tucson, AZ.

The role offers a pay range of $63.00–$66.50 per hour based on shift, site needs, hire status, and experience. As a Correctional Physical Therapist, you will assess and treat incarcerated individuals, using exercise, manual therapy, and modalities to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function within a secure environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain a current, unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state where you are practicing
• Must possess an active BLS/CPR Certification (AHA required)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and logical thinking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, compassion, and attentiveness
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines
• Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues
• Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening
• Must adhere to the facility's correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and code of conduct

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients using PT techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain
• Conduct physical examinations of ROM, strength, balance, and coordination
• Review medical histories and imaging results
• Develop individualized treatment plans
• Educate patients on exercises and self-care
• Track progress and adjust treatment plans
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists
• Maintain patient records and documentation
• Adhere to ethical and legal standards
• Stay current with PT research and practice
