Job summary

Yorkshire & Stonebridge Assisted Living, a program of Baruch Senior Ministries, is seeking a part-time cook in Walker, MI. You will prepare nutritionally balanced meals for residents and keep the kitchen and dining areas clean, in a friendly, family-oriented setting.

Qualified candidates will have a passion for elder care, strong communication and teamwork skills, and at least one year of cooking or related dietary experience in long-term care. A diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Passion for caring for older adults.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• One year cooking/baking experience or education-to-experience mix.
• Experience with special diets in long-term care is a plus.

Responsibilities

Yorkshire & Stonebridge Assisted Living, a nonprofit organization, is looking for a dynamic, motivated individual to join their team as a part time cook in Walker, MI. Yorkshire & Stonebridge offers a fun, homelike, family environment with varying levels of care needs.

As Cook, you will have the opportunity to prepare and serve nutritionally balanced, quality food to residents as directed by the Food Service Director. You are responsible for keeping the equipment, kitchen, and dining areas clean.

Qualified candidates will possess -

• A passion for our mission of caring for people as they age.
• High school diploma or GED
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style
• One year of experience cooking/baking and preparing special diets in a long term care or assisted living setting OR a combination of education and experience
