Avamere Skilled Advisors, LLC is seeking a dedicated Cook for a part-time role at Avamere at Sherwood, OR. You will prepare nutritious meals, respect dietary restrictions, and uphold high sanitation standards to create a home-like dining experience for residents.

The role includes weekend/evening shifts with a pay range of $18.89–$24.65/hr DOE and an attendance bonus of $75 for part-time staff per pay period. Join a team focused on resident well-being and collaborative dining services.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of Cook experience in hospital or healthcare setting.
• Current ServSafe Manager certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions and pay close attention to details to follow recipes and production sheets.
• Requires a current Food Handlers card issued by local Health Department.
• Demonstrates initiative, sound judgment, and competency in operating kitchen equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information and a genuine desire to improve seniors' quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, balanced for dining needs and proper temperatures.
• Prepare alternative menu options and snacks for changing appetites.
• Adapt recipes for dietary needs (low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, vegetarian, texture-modified).
• Accommodate memory care dining challenges and flexible dining times.
• Create a calm, structured, inviting dining environment to stimulate appetite.
• Adhere to ServSafe food safety, handling, and storage rules; cleanliness after each shift.
• Log temperatures daily for quality control and safety.
• Collaborate with Dietary/Dining Services Director and nursing staff on care plans.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and equipment upkeep per health codes.
