Job summary

Fairlane Gardens Nursing and Rehab is seeking a Cook to join our team in Reading, PA. This part-time role covers 12p-8p with 16 hours bi-weekly, contributing to nutritious meals for our residents.

You will prepare meals according to planned menus, coordinate production with serving schedules, and ensure safe, sanitary kitchen operations. A high school diploma is required; 1 year dining services experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of dining services experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or similar setting preferred.
• Culinary school training is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and portion control guidelines.
• Coordinate food production to align with meal serving schedules.
• Memorize and execute menu items, including special diet orders and portion sizes.
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to strict sanitation and food safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances.
