Job Summary:

As a Grace Cook, you will work in the Grace Kitchen preparing meals, monitoring quality, assisting in meal service, and taking part in kitchen clean up. You will assist to ensure that we provide a quality dining experience for residents, families, & visitors.

  • Prepare meals, menu alternates and specials.
  • Sample foods for temperature, palpability, and appearance. Alert Manager of any issues to correct prior to meal service.
  • Complete daily documentation logs including refrigerator and food temperatures.
  • Assist with transporting/serving meals and all aspects of clean up after meals.
  • Wear PPE provided per Department Policy.
  • May be required to work other shifts/positions and fill in on weekends and holidays as needed.

Requirements :

  • Previous food prep, food service or cooking experience is a plus but not required.
  • Perform the physical requirements of the position which include standing, walking, bending and squatting, stooping and lifting, handling hot foods and liquids.
  • Must be able to read and follow schedules, recipes, instructions, and labels.
  • Must be pleasant, cheerful, and courteous with residents, visitors, fellow staff and customers.
  • Protect resident confidentiality by not sharing information.
  • Adhere to all Wesbury personnel policies as they apply to the workplace.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration mandates that all health Care facilities have a written Exposure control Plan on blood Borne Pathogens and Other Potential Infectious Materials in place and available for all persons to review as needed. As a part of this plan a copy of the Task Evaluation and Classification Form must be made a part of each job description. The next page of this job description is a copy of that form. It indicates the tasks likely to be performed during this job, the type of body fluid/substances to which exposure is likely, volume, probability of exposure, route of exposure and protective barriers which are to be employed. All persons hired will be fully trained on the Blood Borne Pathogens and Other Potential Infectious materials Exposure Control Plan on the day of hire or prior to initial assignment. Along with this training all persons will be provided with a copy of the Task Evaluation and Classification Form related to job description.
