Job summary

Omaha Performing Arts is seeking a full-time cook/food prep to produce visually appealing and tasty foods to our standards. You will prepare, season and cook soups, meats, vegetables and desserts, and serve customers during meal periods. The role requires knowledge of ServSafe and HACCP and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Starting wage is $20.00/hour; applicants should have a high school diploma and be able to lift 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Able to safely use standard kitchen equipment.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Season and cook food according to recipes.
• Observe and test foods to determine doneness and adjust seasoning.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Portion, arrange, garnish and serve food to patrons.
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters.
• Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.
• Follow all safety rules and HACCP/ServSafe programs.
