Grand Forks Public Schools at Central High School is seeking a part-time Classified staff member to assist with student meals. Working 5 hours per day, 25 hours weekly, from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm during the academic year.

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to prepare, serve, and maintain safe, nutritious meals for students.

Job Summary: Providing customer service, develop food preparation and production skills.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Preparation and serving meals to students according to established methods and procedures


• Maintain high standards of food preparation and service with emphasis on menu appeal and maximum nutritional value


• Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety.


• Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will need to consistently engage in walking and standing; occasionally walk and stand. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; The physical capability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.

Terms of Employment: Nine (9) months (academic school year of the students enrolled).

Hours/days: Working 5 hours per day Monday - Friday at 25 hours per week; between the hours of 6:00am and 2:00 pm.

Benefits: This position is not eligible for benefits.

Evaluation: Annual written evaluation by the Supervisor.
