Job summary

Elior North America is seeking a Part-Time Healthcare Cook to join the kitchen team at St. Gertrude's Health Rehab in Shakopee, MN. You will cook meals for a healthcare setting, following specific dietary requirements and menus, with potential pureeing or grounding of foods as needed.

Prior healthcare cooking experience is preferred, and certification may be pursued after hire. Responsibilities include quality control, food preparation, and safe handling per recipes.

Qualifications

• At least one year of prior culinary experience in a high-volume healthcare setting.
• Healthcare cooking experience in Assisted Living or Long-Term Care.
• Working knowledge of culinary methods, techniques, and standards.

• Customer service experience is required.

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced Part-Time Healthcare Cookto work with a motivated and energetic kitchen staff in ourShakopee, MNlocation. As aCook, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, efficient environment and cook delicious meals.*You will be cooking specifically for healthcare, so there are specific menu's that must be followed. Some foods will also need to be pureed and ground, and made to specific dietary restrictions. Prefer to have someone with over 1 year experience working with seniors or in a healthcare environment and to be able to obtain their Certified Food Protection Manager Certificate with 1 month of hiring. *

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• At least one years’ prior culinary experience in a quality and high-volume establishment with an emphasis on scratch cooking.
• Previous healthcare cooking experience in Assisted Living or Long-Term Care.
• Working knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques, and standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to use various kitchen equipment and tools as well as identify and differentiate food items.
• Customer service experience is required.
• Flexibility.

Nice-to-haves:

• CFPM / ServSafe certification (State Requirement)
  • If you do not have the certification, we will assist *(Must obtain within 30 days of hire.)*
