Qualifications

  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
  • Proficiency with Windows Office; Sage Intacct or similar is a plus.

Location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid)

Departmental Role

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Girls Inc. Network accounting operations by maintaining financial records, preparing journal entries, and reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. This role works closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial information while maintaining Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

  • Prepare and post daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries.
  • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintain and analyze financial records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Process fixed asset additions, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Process payroll.
  • Prepare information for regulatory reports (i.e., 990), when applicable.
  • Assist with external audits by providing requested documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
  • Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.
  • Proficiency in the use of information technology - Windows Office environment (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting systems is a plus.

Requirements

Job Qualifications and Skills:
