Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in building construction technology or engineering technology in a directly related area.
• At least two (2) years of direct work experience as a building construction technology specialist in residential and light commercial construction.
• Associate’s degree in construction technology AND six (6) years of direct experience as a building construction technology specialist in residential and light commercial construction.
• A combination of education and experience that is at least equivalent to the above; candidates must complete and submit an equivalency questionnaire and supporting documentation.
• Submit college transcripts showing the degree was awarded or conferred with a completion date.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (AB 1725, 87360a).

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in accordance with approved Imperial Valley College curriculum, established course outlines, and assignments based on the needs of the college.
• Conduct classes, prepare course materials, evaluate students, develop course syllabi, assess and evaluate student learning outcomes, and perform other related duties.
• Maintain and submit accurate records according to published deadlines (grades, syllabi, attendance reports).
• Practice professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the position.
• Advise students on academic matters.
• Maintain competency in the field of building construction technology.
