Job summary

NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) seeks a part-time faculty member to teach Construction Technology in the Associate of Applied Science program. You will prepare and deliver instruction, using a variety of strategies to foster learning and engage diverse student populations.

This role may require teaching nights, weekends, and/or online sessions. The position emphasizes maintaining records, staying current with industry practices, and supporting student success.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in the construction industry at a supervisory level.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or ability to obtain by start date.
• NCCER instructor certification or the ability to obtain by start date may be required.
• Experience teaching construction materials, carpentry skills, estimating, scheduling, codes, and related areas.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver instruction to students.
• Effectively employ a range of strategies to foster student learning.
• Stimulate class discussions and encourage active learning.
• Maintain proper class-related records.
• Contacts students outside the classroom to relay information about class work and assignments.
• Demonstrate knowledge of current and emerging technologies in the classroom and online teaching.
