Job summary

Park School in Brookline, MA seeks a part-time Competition Robotics Coach for a six-month term from October 2026 through mid March 2027. You will support the Upper Division with robotics design, programming, and competition preparation aligned to curricular goals.

The role involves after-school robotics sessions on Mon, Tue, Thu, and Fri from 3:00 pm to 4:45 pm, plus developing training programs and guiding students in mechanical design, electronics, and coding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Experience using the design process.
• Experience with block-based coding and Python.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems.
• 3–5 years of middle school teaching preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with students and colleagues.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in teaching.

Responsibilities

• Co-facilitate Competition Robotics sessions after school on Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri 3:00 pm–4:45 pm through mid-March 2027.
• Design and implement training programs focused on robotics design, documentation, programming, and competition strategies.
• Provide hands-on instruction in robotics principles including mechanical design, electronics, and coding.
• Prepare teams for competitions by developing strategies, building robots, and coordinating logistics.
• Offer guidance to students to encourage creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
• Meet safety regulations and Park School standards in all activities.
• Attend carpool and chaperone at least two full-day off-site competitions.
