Job summary

The Charles Lea Center is seeking a part-time Community Support Specialist to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Dickson County and surrounding areas. The role offers competitive pay at $16.48 per hour, PTO, and access to online health and wellness resources.

The role focuses on supporting daily living activities, promoting community involvement, and ensuring health and safety while empowering others to lead more independent lives.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
• Able to pass a background check upon hire.
• Valid driver's license.
• Vehicle Insurance of a specific coverage amount.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across departments to ensure homes are operated and maintained in alignment with CLC standards.
• Provide intervention, support, and assistance during hospitalizations, injuries, deaths, abuse cases, and other emergencies.
• Prepare meals based on established menus, considering each individual's diet and health needs.
• Support individuals to ensure they are clean, groomed, and dressed appropriately.
• Responsible for daily activities as scheduled by individuals and staff.
• Ensure individuals are active in their communities.
• Follow regulations required by Tennessee Department of Disability & Aging (DDA).
• All other duties as assigned.
