Job summary

Qualifications

Master’s degree in communications or related field.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to interact with large groups and individuals at all work levels.
Demonstrated sensitivity to and desire to promote diversity.
Proficient in MS Office Suite, and LinkedIn Learning.
Proficient in using data in assessment and decision making.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

To teach a course during a designated semester, as defined in the Faculty Handbook, according to the official schedule, using an approved syllabus, which conforms with University requirements.
To keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading and returning of assignments.
To maintain accurate and complete scholastic records, including attendance.
To assess student learning outcomes which conform with University requirements, and to document the use of the results of the assessment to improve student learning.
To collect and submit data for assessment every semester, and to meet with area faculty, as prescribed by the dean/chair, in the preparation of the assessment reports.
Create an environment of active and genuine learning by employing a range of teaching strategies that meet the needs of all students.
Seek regular professional development opportunities such as attending appropriate seminars and courses.
Participate in subject or area association meetings as appropriate and maintain relationships with professional associations.
Participate in professional development programs and participate in the development and evaluation of curriculum.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or deemed appropriate to the accomplishments of the responsibilities and functions of the Arts & Humanities Division.
