Job summary

Chaminade University of Honolulu is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to teach COM 101 with focus on public speaking and interpersonal communication. The role requires staying current in the discipline and participating in curriculum delivery, development and assessment. Office hours are expected to support student success.

The position is part-time, on-demand per semester with a salary of $880 to $1,000 per credit hour, subject to university policy and campus needs.

Qualifications

• Master’s or terminal degree in field of teaching or closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
• College-level teaching experience is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canvas LMS, email and internet; familiarity with common office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Meet faculty responsibilities as described by Chaminade University’s Policy Manual IV.
• Support policies as stated in the Chaminade School of Business and Communication Handbook and in course syllabi.
• Participate in meetings related to the course(s) being taught.
• Demonstrate and encourage critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrate and maintain a professional relationship with administration, faculty, staff, and students.
• Communicate clearly with administration, faculty, staff, and students.
• Serve as a professional role model for students.
• Maintain high standards and promote excellence in education.
