Recology Del Norte in Crescent City, CA is hiring a Part-Time Commercial Truck Driver for early-morning routes. The role requires operating a truck, performing safety inspections, loading materials, and maintaining strong customer relations across service areas.

The position emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient daily operations. CDL and medical card are required, with a high school diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

• 6 months of commercial driving experience; two years preferred
• Knowledge of job-site safety, hazards, and state/local regulations incl. waste regulations
• Basic computer skills
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CDL and a valid medical card

Responsibilities

• Performs daily safety checks and pre-trip inspections on the vehicle.
• Applies safety measures and operates the vehicle in assigned service areas.
• Operates vehicle in a timely and efficient manner.
• Loads materials per procedures and reports violations to supervisor.
• Ensures hazardous materials are not accepted, as able.
• Ensures loads comply with legal limits.
• Reports accidents or safety violations promptly.
• Maintains good customer relations and supports positive community perception.
• Fulfills other duties as assigned

Role of Part-Time Commercial Truck Driver

Shift: 3am - 6am, 3 times per week. Additional hours will fluctuate due to daily tasks.

Under limited supervision, accountable for the efficient and effective operation of assigned vehicle, the consistent application of safety and operational procedures, and maintenance of good customer relations throughout all applicable service areas.

Essential Responsibilities

• Performs daily routine safety checks, and pre-trip inspections on assigned vehicle.
• Ensures all safety measures appropriate for operation of assigned vehicle are consistently and efficiently applied.
• Operates vehicle in all assigned service areas in a timely and efficient manner.
• Loads all assigned materials according to normal operating procedures and reports any violations to supervisor.
• Ensures hazardous materials are not accepted, as able.
• Assures materials being transported comply within the legal load limits.
• Reports all accidents and/or safety violations to the appropriate authority and in a timely manner.
• Maintain support of good customer relations and positively influences the community's perception of the Company throughout all applicable service areas.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 6 monthsofcommercial drivingexperience (Two years of commercial driving experience preferred).
• Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations including applicable waste regulation.
• Basic computer programs.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Current commercial driver's license and a current valid medical card.
