Job summary

The TuftsMedicine urgent care unit seeks a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to deliver professional and basic nursing care under the supervision of nursing staff. The role involves assisting with ADLs, taking vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, and supporting RN/LPN as needed.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, CNA certification, BLS, and at least 1 year of healthcare experience; 3 years preferred. Part-time, 24 hours per week, 3pm-11pm, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent
• Successful completion of courses in EKG and Phlebotomy (only for Critical Care and ED)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• One (1) year experience in health care or nursing services

Responsibilities

• Assists with examinations, procedures, tests and treatments taught through formal training.
• Takes vital signs and weights.
• Assists patients with Activities of Daily Living while maintaining privacy and safety.
• Prepares patients for meals and assists with feeding as necessary.
• Administers hygienic care including changing linens, bedmaking, and catheters.
• Documents and reconciles allergy and medication lists.

Education

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
