Job summary

Grand Living in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to deliver compassionate care and support independence for residents. You'll assist with daily living activities, participate in wellness programs, and collaborate with multiple teams to ensure a remarkable resident experience.

Qualified candidates have a CNA and at least one year of experience with seniors; strong communication, stamina, and a positive, resident-first attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• 1+ year of ADL assistance experience; highly preferred.
• 1+ year of senior care experience; highly preferred.
• CNA credential required as applicable by state.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude and desire to enhance residents' lives.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for communication.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and reach.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.

What You'll Do

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you'll help create exceptional daily experiences for residents by providing compassionate care, supporting independence, and delivering personalized service through The Sterling Touch®. Whether assisting with activities of daily living, supporting wellness initiatives, helping with medication administration (where licensed), working in Luminations® (memory care), or simply being a trusted companion, you'll make a meaningful difference every day.

In this role, you will:

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including dressing, eating, grooming, personal hygiene, mobility, communication, and toileting
• Support residents in accordance with their personalized care plans while promoting dignity, independence, and well-being
• Observe residents and communicate changes or concerns to the nursing team
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and families while creating a warm, engaging atmosphere
• Participate in community activities, wellness programs, dining experiences, and special events
• Work collaboratively with Health & Wellness, Culinary, Lifestyle, and Hospitality teams to deliver an exceptional resident experience
• Ensure exceptional documentation is submitted for all services provided or declined
• Deliver care that is professional, respectful, timely and personalized
• Help create an environment where every resident feels valued and cared for

What You Bring

We're looking for individuals who are passionate about service, hospitality, and senior care.
Preferred qualifications include:

• High School Diploma or GED, required
• One or more years of experience providing assistance with activities of daily living, highly preferred
• One or more years of experience working with seniors, highly preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), required as applicable by state and assignment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive attitude and genuine desire to enhance the lives of others
• Ability to read, write, and understand English in order to communicate effectively with residents, guests, supervisors, and team members
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull, and remain active throughout the shift
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
