Qualifications

• Must be or have been a medical assistant or front‑office medical staff member with at least one year of experience performing medical administrative assistant tasks.
• Expert‑level skills and knowledge necessary to pass the CMAA exam.
• Knowledge of local and regional health‑care facilities and systems.
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to meet set deadlines.
• Associate’s degree in a related health‑care field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Experience in teaching adult learners and proficiency with Canvas or a similar Learning Management System.
• Five years of work experience in a patient‑care setting or medical office field.

Responsibilities

• Teach students in classroom and skills‑lab settings, ensuring they gain the knowledge and skills required to pass the National Healthcareer Association CMAA exam.
• Deliver the established course curriculum and monitor student progress.
• Transfer knowledge to support certification preparation, troubleshoot classroom technical issues, and track equipment usage and inventory.
• Assess students for content mastery and skills proficiency and maintain attendance and grades in accordance with college policies.
• Assist with content development and curriculum as needed.
• May perform other duties as assigned and support the agency or state government in emergency declarations.
