Job summary

The University of Iowa is seeking a Clinical Trials Research Assistant to support the Air Core anesthesia research program. You will administer, deliver, and assist in evaluation and coordination of research protocols within the department.

Primary duties include scheduling participants, preparing procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring protocol adherence. Strong communication and data management skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Science or equivalent required.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex information with accuracy.
• Occasional weekend coverage and flexible hours.
• Experience with EPIC, TriNetX, SlicerDicer, RedCap preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform research activities within the Dept of Anesthesia, assuring compliance to the study protocol.
• Assist in protocol development and provide input into descriptions of routine research procedures.
• Arrange and plan daily activities to prepare for research protocols.
• Responsible for scheduling participants for procedures or follow up as required by study protocol.
• Set up, maintain, and operate research materials or equipment.
• Screen, recruit, and obtain informed consents for clinical trials/studies.
• Adhere to safety and compliance guidelines.
• Collect and track data, perform data entry, record, and consolidate data as directed by the principal investigator and maintain record of methods used.
• Adhere to Quality Assurance protocols to maintain validity and integrity of research data.
• Assist in documenting compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
