Job summary

Actalent in Birmingham, AL seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator for a part-time role (~20 hours/week) to support a clinical trial at a local research site. You will identify and recruit eligible participants, guide them through enrollment, educate them about the study, and help ensure continued engagement and compliance.

The ideal candidate has clinical research experience, strong organization, and confident communication with participants and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator with at least 1 year of patient recruitment.
• Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Formal training in HIPAA regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to review EMR and screen participants against eligibility criteria.

Responsibilities

• Review EMR to assess potential participants against protocol-defined inclusion and exclusion criteria.
• Pre-screen potential participants for eligibility.
• Recruit and enroll participants per study protocol.
• Educate participants about procedures, risks, and follow-up requirements.
• Maintain ongoing communication to support retention and compliance.
• Schedule visits and send reminders for follow-ups.
• Document interactions in EMR and study records accurately.
• Ensure adherence to GCP and privacy regulations.
• Collaborate with research staff to support trial operations.
• Maintain high attention to detail in data entry and documentation.
